This calendar covers only destinations Wild Chime currently supports. When an agency has not announced a 2027 date, the table says so instead of copying a 2026 date forward.

Indian Peaks Wilderness Exact 2027 date not yet announced The current listing says first Tuesday in March and names March 3 at 8:00 a.m. MST for 2026. It does not name the exact 2027 date and time.

The full-season pool covers the June 1–September 15 permit season once released.

A small number is withheld for a separate three-day-ahead pool. Its 2027 launch details are not yet announced.

RMNP’s listing says the advance window opens every year on March 1 at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Time, so the standing rule applies directly to 2027.

Maroon’s October 15, 2026 release covers dates through March 31, 2027. It says nothing yet about the summer 2027 release.

Do not convert the prior year into a forecast.

Indian Peaks names the 2026 date and a first-Tuesday convention, but the exact 2027 release date and time have not yet been posted.

More than release morning

Short-window and cancellation inventory are separate opportunities.

The exact mechanics differ by destination and should not be collapsed into one generic “rolling release.”

Indian Peaks maintains a distinct Recreation.gov listing for permits three days ahead. Wild Chime treats it as a second official pool for the same saved area and night.

Maroon Bells–Snowmass says canceled permits become available within 24 hours. That language does not identify the minute of return or guarantee new inventory.

RMNP cancellations can reopen individual designated campsites. A useful opening still has to satisfy every campsite and date in the selected itinerary.

Pick the itinerary before the inventory appears.

A calendar date alone cannot tell a traveler which permit areas or campsites belong in the reservation.

Open the relevant trip below and record its night-by-night order, party-size boundary, and trailhead-access requirement. Direction matters on Four Pass, while RMNP trips reserve individual campsites and Indian Peaks trips reserve named areas.

No. This guide identifies the RMNP standing annual rule and the early-2027 Maroon window, while explicitly marking summer Maroon and exact Indian Peaks 2027 dates as not yet announced as of August 24, 2026.

What time zone do these permit systems use?

The current official releases are stated in Mountain Time. Indian Peaks’ 2026 notice specifically says MST; future notices should be followed exactly as written.

Are the listed fees guaranteed for 2027?

Does a backpacking permit include parking or park entry?
